Leverage Your Gift by Donating Appreciated Securities

Stock, Bond or ETF Transfer
  1. Inform your broker in writing that you wish to donate appreciated securities to the NHCS Foundation, and give them the following information:
    DTC: #0164, Code 40
         Receiving Institution: Charles Schwab & Co.
         Account Name: NHCS Fdn Unrestricted
         Account Number: 48973927
         NHCS Foundation Tax Identification #: 04-3462888
  2. Let us know that you have initiated a transfer of securities to the Neighborhood House account by contacting Nicole Morrell at  or (617) 825-0703 x3290. Be sure to let us know your name, so that we can give you the proper tax receipt as well as acknowledging your gift.
  3. The value of your gift will be calculated by using the mean value of each share on the date the shares arrive in our brokerage or mutual fund account. Our broker is Charles Schwab & Co.
  4. If you are concerned about the timing of your gift, please be sure to work closely with your broker or mutual fund company to ensure that the shares are transferred in a timely manner.
Mutual Fund Transfer

Mutual funds usually take a little longer to transfer, as each mutual fund company has its own requirements for making charitable contributions. Allow at least one month for the transfer. Follow the same steps as above, and be sure to let us know that you have initiated a mutual fund transfer to the Neighborhood House account by contacting Nicole Morrell at or (617) 825-0703 x3290.
