Preparing scholars to succeed in and lead for a more equitable and rapidly changing future.
800 scholars | 185 educators
3 schools | 2 campuses
NHCS combines rich and structured academics with extensive social/emotional programming to help all our students succeed in school and in life. We strive to develop scholars who seek knowledge, embrace effort, act thoughtfully, and commit to the common good.
Many children come to us with significant needs. We don’t give up on them. Our goal is that all of our students thrive at Neighborhood House, graduate from high school, and pursue post-secondary education on the path to achieve life success.
Neighborhood House At a Glance
Neighborhood House Charter School is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12. We serve nearly 800 scholars across two campuses. One of the Commonwealth’s first charters, NHCS was founded in 1995 by parents and community members seeking a high-quality educational option for children from their community who, with the right support – both academic and social-emotional – had the potential to perform at or above the level of their more affluent peers.
