On the 2022 MCAS

  • Our performance placed us among the top high schools in Boston. Out of the 38 district and charter high schools in the city, we ranked 6th in science, 7th in math and 8th in English
  • Compared to charter schools alone, we placed 3rd in math and science and 4th in English and we outperformed many historically high achieving charter high schools
  • Some of our student growth placed us among the top schools and districts in the Commonwealth:
    • In 7th grade English our student growth percentile* (SGP) was the 4th highest of all schools statewide
    • Our SGP in 3rd – 8th grade English placed us in the top 5% of all districts across Massachusetts
    • In 6th grade math our SGP was in the top 11% of all districts in the state

While we are proud our results are among the top schools in Boston, test scores alone don’t measure what makes Neighborhood House truly special. Our goal is to see 100% of our scholars graduate from high school, further their education beyond high school, and achieve life success.  To do this, we must ensure that our scholars learn to think critically, work hard, be curious and creative, and communicate and collaborate well.  This requires our educators to go above and beyond, inside the classroom and out, every single day; that’s what makes NHCS truly special!
